Description
This is a vintage bone china teacup and saucer manufactured in Longton, Staffordshire, England. According to "Kovel's New Dictionary of Marks", it was manufactured between 1939-1954. The top three quarters of the cup is pink with small pink, blue, purple and yellow flowers amid green leaves. The bottom quarter of the cup is white. The rim of the cup is trimmed in gold. There is also a band of gold on the inside, on each side and the middle of the handle and three gold bands at the bottom of the cup. The saucer has the pink and floral pattern on the outside and the middle is white. The rim and the inside is trimmed in gold. The saucer curves up and measures 1" in height and has a diameter of 5 5/8". The cup measures 2 3/4" in height, a diameter of 3 1/2" and holds 6 fluid ounces. Except for a small dark dot in the center of saucer, (please see photo)this tea cup and saucer is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or scratches.
